Paint Rock - Annie Rose Garrett, 92, died Monday at her residence. (March 25, 1996)

Funeral: 1:00 PM today at First Baptist Church,.  Burial:  Paint Rock Cemetery.
Officiating will be the Rev. Chesster Sylvester and the Reb. Tony Gruben.  Pallaberers will be B. J. Mikeska, Delten Atwood, Rupert Beach, Stacy Sonnenburg, Charles Becker and Ben Sims.

Annie was born Nov. 27, 1903, in Bryan to Frank and Annie Mikeska.  She attended Eola public schools, where she played basketball and volleyball.  She married Coy Garrett on Feb. 5, 1925, in Paint Rock and lived on a stock farm all her life in the Eola and Paint Rock area.  She was a homemaker and was a member of First Baptist Church, where she attended the Allathian Sunday School class.  

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years on Feb. 3, 1988.  She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Adolph, Frank, Joe, Walter, and John.  

Survivors:  Two brothers, Charles Mikeska of Eola and Bryan Mikeska of Arlington; two granddaughters, Dee Ann Williams of Grand Prairie and Shana Lynn Garrett of Arlington; a great-granddaughter, Guineve Burke of New York; and a host of nieces and nephews.
