MRS. NANCY JOSEPHINE SPENCER

Pioneer Lady Dies at Home of Son in Eden Community
   
Mrs. Nancy Josephine Spencer, age 82 years, 7 months, 13 days, died yesterday afternoon at the residence of her son, J. H. Spencer in the Eden community near Douglas. Mrs. Spencer was born in Tennessee, August 23, 1850. She was the daughter of G. W. Warren and Louise Pernell Warren and she with her parents moved to Texas when she was quite a small girl, settling near Douglas where she has since resided.
    her husband, T. C. Spencer preceded her in death having died nine years ago. She was buried by his side in the Eden Cemetery this afternoon at 4 p.m. with Rev. W. (Doc) Smith officiating.
    Mrs. Spencer is survived by the following children: J. H. Spencer of Douglass; T. C. Spencer, Jr. of Houston; E. W. Spencer of Douglass; also seventeen grand children, six great grandchildren; two brothers, and one sister, H. C. Warren of Douglass, W. L. Warren of Palestine and Mrs. T. S. Neel of Douglas.
    She was a member of the Baptist church.
    Cason, Monk & Co., had charge of the funeral arrangements.
