FIGHT
OVER CIGARETTE
Sheriff
Poole arrested Robert Richardson, a negro youth Thursday afternoon on the
charge of fighting. The charge grows out of a free for all fight that took
place on New Years night on the Battle farm south of town. The fight started
from a dispute over a cigarette stub which two of the boys wanted and ended up
in one of them. Elisha Hayes, became seriously cut in the neck and in the back.
Parker Richardson, father of Robert, is charged with the cutting and the
Sheriff is looking for him.
