Eakin "Granny Eakin's
73rd Birthday" Reunion December 1916 At first I thought it was her 75th, but judging by the age of my great-aunt Faytine Eakin (in her mother Willie's arms, 2nd row from top) who was born June 1916, the picture had to be in Dec 1916 if it was Granny Eakin's birthday. She was born 25 Dec 1843. Here is what is on the list I have, for the
Eakin Clan picture, from the abstract of persons done by Jewel May Gates
Garner, who lives in Temple, Tx. Left to Right: Bottom Row: Mark, Carson, Homer (all 3 Jimmie
& Willie's sons), Willie B. (Monroe's son), Wilson Gates, Vincent Gates,
Lucille Gates, Sidney, Elsie, Myrtle (Sidney, Elsie, & Myrtle were Sid's
children), and Aldean (Joe Sr son) 2nd Row: Simon holding son LeRoy, Charlie,
Jimmie holding youngest son James Grady, Monroe with son Durwood, Granny
Eakin, Becky Eakin Cooley, Amanda "Aunt Babe" Eakin, Sid Eakin with
son Moran, Joe Sr, Isabel (Joe Sr daughter) 3rd Row: Emma (Simon's wife), Willie (Jimmie's
wife) holding Faytine, Nannie (Monroe's wife), Bessie Eakin Hoyle (Monroe's
dau), Bessie's husband Evan, Minnie Gates, Evie (Sid's wife), Joe Cecil (Joe
Sr's oldest), Maggie (Joe Sr wife) 4th Row: Martha Relf, Vera Roan (Monroe's youngest),
Clarence (Monroe's son), Roy Cooley, Calvin Cooley, Maywood (Joe's oldest) |
