MILITARY PICTURES
Elijah Taylor, is the
fifth born of eight children. His parents are the late Jack D. and Lydia Laster
Taylor, of Marlin, Falls County, Texas. Originally born in Highbank, Falls
County Texas, Elijah was a natural sportsman growing up. He loved to hunt, play
baseball, and is still an avid fisherman. He attended Booker T. Washington High
School in Marlin, Falls County, Texas, but around the age of fifteen, moved
away to live in Dallas. There, he graduated from James Madison High School. In
1966 he was drafted into the military, accepting his basic training at Ft.
Riley, Geary County, Kansas, and his advanced training for combat medic at Ft.
Sam Houston, Bexar County, Texas. Elijah is married and the father of three
grown children and grandfather of two. He is retired from the U. S. Postal
Service and visits friends and acquaintances in Marlin often.
Precious Yvonne Anderson Taylor
October 17, 1948 - November 12, 2007
Elijah's wife of 36
years, Precious Yvonne Anderson Taylor, passed away at her home in Cedar Hill,
(Dallas) Texas, on Monday, November 12, 2007, after a long battle with breast
cancer. She was 59 years old. She is laid to rest at
Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
