JOHN McBRIDE FINED

     In the city court John McBride, a negro from Marlin, was fined $150.  It is alleged that he was found sporting a gun big enough to have wheels on it and which might have been mistaken for a cannon had the wheels aforesaid been evidence.  It is further alleged that he used this gun to "pursuade" a dusky damsel to return to Marlin with him and that under the spell of the gun she consented, but afterwards reported the matter to officers.
