LIQUOR CHARGES FILED
AGAINST MAN and WIFE

Over Three Gallons Reported Seized
by Officers in Raid on
House.

       Charges of violating the Texas liquor law were filed against John Burgess and his wife, Mrs. Sallie Burgess, in Marlin justice court Saturday night following a raid on their home in Marlin by Deputy Sheriff's Davis, Hay and Reed.  Bond was fixed at $500 each pending action of the grand jury.
       Officers reported seizure of over three gallons alleged found in the house.
       In a raid earlier in the afternoon, these officers reported seizure of a couple of pints in a cafe, corner Island and Wood streets, following which a complaint charging violation of the state liquor law was filed against Victor Almendarez.  This defendant also was allowed bond of $500 pending action of the grand jury.
