MARLIN
Marlin.--Sunday was a great day at all of the churches. Rev. W. W. White,
pastor of David M. E. Church, preached--wonderful semons--both Sunday morning
and night. Marlin Baptist Church had a large attendance Sunday. All
enjoyed the services. Services were well attended at St. Paul A. M. E.
Church Sunday. Rev. Coffee preached two most able sermons. Mrs.
Coffee is practicing for the religious pageant, "Heaven Bound."
All of the churches are cooperating with her for which she is very
grateful. It is expected to be a great success. The P.-T.A. will
meet Tuesday evening, February 9, at St. Paul A.M.E. Church. Rev. Coffee
will be the principal speaker for the evening. The Ministerial Alliance
met in its regular weekly meeting with the Upper Zion Baptist Church Tuesday
morning, Feb. 2. Dr. L. J. Jackson taught a very interesting
lesson. The alliance is bringing about a stronger spirit of cooperation
among the ministers of Marlin. Visitors are invited to their meetings.
Next meeting will be held at Zion Hill Baptist Church Tuesday morning, Feb.
9. Rev. S. M. Mitchell, president, invites the cooperation of all
progressive pastors and ministers. Mrs. Rosena Marshall of Houston, was
called to the bedside of her mother, Mrs. R. Wayman, who is recovering.
Mrs. Evelyn Carroll and daughter made a flying trip to Bremond Sunday.
