Killed Near Thornton.
~~~~~
A
special to the daily press form Thornton, says The dead body (badly decayed) of
W. P. Harlan, whose mother lives about on half-mile east of town, was found in
a woodland pasture about one mile east of here. Deceased had been missing
ever since last Wednesday, but had caused no uneasiness, as he was supposed to
be gone off somewhere to pick cotton.
The finding of the jury inquest was that while trying
to get a rabbit out the hollow of a tree, his gun was accidentally discharged
shooting him though the chest about the top of his heart. He leaves a
widowed mother, three brothers, and a grown sister.
