PARHAM FAMILY PHOTOS
STITH ALFRED & MARY JANE BOWERS PARHAM
AND THEIR DESCENDANTS
The Parham family came to Texas about 1879 from Mississippi. Stith Alfred was born February 6, 1849 in Lafayette County, Mississippi to Stith Mead and wife Elizabeth McGlaun Parham. Mary Jane was born October 16, 1852 to Daniel & Aurillia King Bowers. To this union were born five children, one dying in infancy, one in childhood, with three living to adulthood. Listed, in order, by age they were: Susie Louella "Sue" Parham (1872 - 1935) who married Robert Edward Lee Pass; baby boy Parham (died at 6 mos., buried in Mississippi); Cora Aurilla "Rillie" Parham (1880 - 1974) who married Samuel Kinzy Smith; Benjamin Roland "Chum" Parham, Sr. (1883 - 1968) who married Priscilla Eleanor "Ella" Clark and Maude Vitula "Tula" Parham (1886 - 1893).
Stith Alfred lived his last days with his son and wife at Cego and on the farm south of Cego. He died November 21, 1938 and is buried in the Blevins Cemetery in Falls County, Texas. Mary Jane Bowers Parham died at Cego, Texas on September 24, 1937 and is buried at Blevins Cemetery in Falls County.
