1882” Pictures submitted by Bill & Kathy Tye I show the parents of John Maines to be William G.
Maines born 1773 NC died 1849 Sabine Parish LA and Lucy Alford born
1793 NC I show John married 15 July 1852 Rusk Texas to Rachel Richey
Parsons John had a brother, Elbert B. Maines (or R. I've seen it both
ways) born 1823 Washington Parish LA died after 1900 Montgomery Co TX,
married Celia Richey. Elbert's daughter Virginia "Jennie" Maines married
into my YOUNG family. Jennie married first Willie Cross 7 Jan 1885. She
married Jackson Young 15 Aug 1891 They had several children before Jackson
died before the 1900 census ... I show the last child born January 1900. Jennie was much younger than Jackson, who
had been married first to Ann Elizabeth Lang. Jennie died in 1940. She
and Jackson are buried in the Dry Creek Cemetery, Conroe, Montgomery County,
Texas and have a tombstone. Jennie and Jackson are buried to the left of my
grandparents. My great grandmother was said to have been the sister of
Jackson. The 1880 census shows Jennie to be 16 years old and shown as divorced, however she is listed as Virginia Maines. There is a marriage record for Virginia Maines to Willie Cross, but the date is 7 January 1885 in Falls Co. TX Info submitted by Betty Walker |

Falls Co TX buried Calvary Cemetery Marlin Falls Co TX married Sarah K. Brown
(at 12 years of age ?????) 25 Jan 1822 Saint Clair AL. Sarah was born 1810 GA and died 15 Sep
