VETERANS AT BELTON.
Belton, Tex: The fourteenth annual reunion of the ex-Confederate soldiers
began Tuesday. A large number of the veterans were present. A line
of march was formed on the avenue and, accompanied by about fifty decorated
vehicles, they marched to the Confederate park. Judge John D. Roberts
delivered the welcome address, which was responded to by Capt. A. J.
Harris. Among other speakers of the day was Judge X. B. Saunders.
Up to 4 o'clock the day was spent in speechmaking and recitations. At
that hour rain began falling and it continued raining to 6 o'clock. The
veterans were given an informal reception at the Central hotel by the Daughters
of the Confederacy.
