FEATHERSTON, EDWARD JOHN

Edward John Featherston, b. 1836 in Arkansas, date of death and
place of burial unknown-was a son of Dr. Edward Hardiway and
Julia Ann (Thompson) Featherston. Edward John Featherston was
married first to Catherine Warren, who died in Missouri ca 1864.
Edward John married second in 1864 to Parmeda (maiden name
unknown), b. ca 1837 in Kentucky. The family came with his father
to Falls County, Texas in 1870, settling in an area around
present-day Chilton. The town did not exist at the time, but
Durango was then a growing settlement a few miles away. Edward
John was a merchant, and made trips to Louisiana and other
places, to buy merchandise.
By his first marriage to Catherine Warren, Edward John had one
son:
John Henry Featherston, b. April 11, 1892 in Missouri, who
married Lou Annie Bryant-a daughter of John Wesley and Sarah
(Lively) Bryant.
By his second marriage to Parmeda, Edward John had two known
children:
Martha Featherston, b. 1865 in Missouri.
Edward Featherston, b. 1867 in Missouri.
Edward John Featherston was the first of three generations of
merchants in the Featherston family in and around Chilton, in
west Falls County.
