James Meredith, b January 3, 1871 at Blevins, Falls County, Texas, d July 18, 1942 in Lott, Texas-was a son of Meredith and Louisa Catherine (Goodman) Wright of Alabama and Mississippi, respectively.
On November 17, 1897, James Meredith Wright was married in Falls County to Lula Lucretia Ables, b August 26, 1874 in Comanche County, Texas, d July 18, 1949 in Lott-a daughter of Andrew Jackson and Icy Ann (Simmons) Ables of Alabama.
James Meredith met Lucretia at a baptizing at Deer Creek. Her parents had settled near Westphalia in Falls County, and they were married in her parents' home. James Meredith farmed and raised cattle for many years. It was after working cattle all day, when returning to one of his pastures, that he and his horse were struck by a car, and he was killed. Lula Lucretia (Ables) Wright died on the seventh anniversary of her husband's death, and both are buried in Clover Hill Cemetery at Lott. They were the parents of four children:

James Dewey Wright, b September 1, 1898 at Blevins-married Bertha Bernice Evans.

Mary Musetta Wright, b June 14, 1900 at Westphalia, d May 10, 1975-married Harry Albert.

Icey Ann Wright, b November 11, 1902 at Blevins-married December 30, 1954 to Luther Benjamin Reaves.

Andrew Wilson Wright, b March 11, 1916 at Lott-married Velma Agnes Christianson and had one son,
Roger Lewis Wright, b July 24, 1942 at Temple, Bell County, Texas, and moved to Houston, Texas.
