Frank Alford

June 5, 1918 — December 27, 2001



     ROCKDALE — Services for Frank Alford, 83, of Marlin are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at the Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

     Chad Lagrone will officiate. Burial will be in the Gause Cemetery.

     Mr. Alford died Thursday in the V.A. Hospital in Marlin.

     He was born in Lee County and lived in Marlin 36 years. He formerly lived in Gause and was a farmer and rancher for 36 years. He also worked for Alcoa in Rockdale for 15 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the First Christian Church in Forest Grove.

     He was preceded in death by four sons, Donald Franklin Alford, Jimmy Earl Alford, William Oliver Alford and Johnny Paul Alford; and a stepson, Bill Davlin.

     Survivors include his wife, Connie Davlin Alford of Marlin; three sons, Thomas Eugene Alford of Livingston, David Norman Alford and Michael Allen Alford, both of Gause; a stepson, Tom Davlin of Kosse; three daughters, Jan Willard and Judy Woods, both of Gause, and Sharon Barnett of Waxahachie; a stepdaughter, Elizabeth Riley of Garland; two brothers, Weldon Alford and Bill Alford, both of Rockdale; a sister, June Fenn of Houston; 33 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.
