Vera Hamrick
Vera Hamrick, 85, of Marlin, died
Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at her residence. Services were held at 10 a.m.
Saturday, December 17, 2005 in Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in
Rosebud, Rev. Alan Six officiating. Burial followed in Powers Chapel Cemetery near Rosebud.
Mrs. Hamrick was born September 16,
1920 in the Cedar Springs community in Falls County to Frank and Helen Mortimer
Westerman. She lived in Falls County
most of her life. She married Lonnie C. Hamrick on April 27, 1938. He preceded
her in death on February 1, 1987. She
was a den mother for the cub scouts, a homemaker, and was a member of Trinity
Memorial Baptist Church in Marlin.
Survivors are three sons, Lonnie F.
Hamrick of Houston, Ivan Hamrick of Waco, and James Hamrick of Splendora; one
daughter: Louise Owens of Marlin, Texas; two sisters, June Freeman of Raleigh,
North Carolina and Lucille Smart of Charlotte, South Carolina; 11 grandchildren
and 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held from 6 p.m. to
8 p.m. Friday, December 16, 2005 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to
any Shriners hospital.
A reception was held following
graveside services at Trinity Memorial Baptist Church in Marlin.
