DEBS JOHNSON
July 21, 1912 - December 16, 2005



     Debs Johnson, 93, fell asleep in the arms of the Lord Friday, December 16, 2005.  Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church in Lott. Rev. Randy Osborn, Chester Springfield, Robert Stem, and John Taylor officiating.  Burial will follow in Clover Hill Cemetery in Lott.  Visitation was held Sunday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Cook-Gerngross-Green.Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud.

     Debs was born July 21, 1912 in Falls County to Elisha and Millie Johnson.  He married D. A. Elliott on July 3,1932 in Lott, Texas.   They celebrated over 61 years together.  He farmed in Lott for over 5O years where he was known for his black-eyed peas, blackberries, and sweet potatoes.  He treasured his friends and family.  He was a member of First Baptist Church in Lott where he served as a deacon since 1951.   He served in the Home Guard during World War II and was active in the Lott Masonic Lodge for many years.

     He was preceded in death by his wife.

     He is survived by daughter and son in law, Barbara and Raymond Redding of Waco, Texas; son and daughter in law; James and Vicky Johnson of Midlothian, Texas; daughter and son in law, Debra and Larry Crosby of Lumberton, Texas; 10 grandchildren, 16 Great grandchildren and a very special friend, Berniece Ewell of Martin.

     Pallbearers will be the deacons of the First Baptist Church in Lott. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons: Craig Redding, Wayne Redding, Stuart Redding, Mike Johnson, Bill Bloomer, Westin Crosby and nephew Harvey Norris.
