Funeral services for Alford R.
Keener, Jr. 63, were held Saturday, January 28, 2006 at the First United
Methodist Church, Family Life Center in Killeen, Texas with the Rev. Ryan
Kiblinger and Rev. John Aymond officiating. Mr. Keener passed away January 25,
2006 in Temple, Texas.
Born December 27, 1942, in Durham,
North Carolina, he was raised in Marlin. While attending UT at Austin, Texas,
Mr. Keener was a member the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity before graduating in
1969. He completed four years of service in the U.S. Army including one tour of
duty in Vietnam when he was wounded in action, receiving the Purple Heart. He
also served as a Dallas police officer before serving as an auditor for 28
years with the Inspector General's Office in OKC. He was a member of the
American CPA and the Texas CPA.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry
of Harker Heights; his son, Brad of Moore, OK; his daughter, Kristie of New
York, NY; his brother, Kenneth of Tyler; and his granddaughter, Jennifer
Everett of Moore, OK.
Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in
Killeen was in charge of arrangements.
