Eva Adline Sims Kessner
December 13, 1913 - August 19, 2007

     Eva Adline Sims Kessner, 93, passed away August 19, 2007, in Waxahachie.

     Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 23 at the Red Oak Funeral Home in Red Oak. Graveside services will follow at the Powers Chapel Cemetery, near Rosebud, at approximately 1:30 p.m.

     Ms. Kessner was born in Oletha, Roberson County, on December 13, 1913 to Mark and Leola (Champion) Sims. Ms. Kessner was employed as the manager of the Jewelry Department for Gibson's Discount Stores in Dallas previous to her retirement. She had previously lived with her daughter, Linda Kessner Howorton in Red Oak.

     She was a longtime member of the Sunset Baptist Church in Oak Cliff.

     She was preceded in death by a son, Harrell Hansel Kessner.

     Survivors include her daughter, Linda Kessner Howorton of Red Oak; a brother, Grady Sims of Bedford; two sisters, Helen Pringle of Dallas and Bertie Platt of Waco; grandson, James Wiley Howerton of Taylorsville, GA; granddaughters, Marla Marie York of Belton, Kara Lin Newton of Gatesville and Schalan Mohtares of Dallas; and several great-grandchildren.

     The family requests memorials be made to the American Heart Association.
