Vernon E. Krause
Services for Vernon E. Krause, 83, of Temple will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple with the Rev. Roy Parker officiating.
Burial with military honors will be in Bellwood Memorial Park.
He died Monday, June 12, at a Temple nursing home.
Mr. Krause was born in Blevins to Emil and Ovie Krause. He graduated from Troy High School in 1941. He served in the U. S. Army Air Corps for three years during World War II, with tours in Burma, India and China. He started working for Pitzer Painting in 1946 and opened his own painting business in 1949. He retired after more than 40 years of painting homes and businesses in Belton. He married Wanda Roper on Oct. 26, 1949.
Survivors are his wife; two daughters, Linda Watts of Temple and Brenda Leonard of St. Louis; a sister, Doris Speidel of Temple; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Visitation is 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Vista Care Hospice or Memorial Baptist Church Building Fund.
