Major Lee - Major Lee was born
to the union of Mr. and Mrs. Major Lee on September 7, 1913 in Marlin, Texas,
one sister and brother proceded him in death. He was united in marriage
to Miss Joe Willie Woods on November 27, 1931. To this union three boys
and four girls was born. He came to Hawthorne, Nevada in 1950. He
was employed at the Hawthorne Army Ammunition Plant for 29 years until his
retirement in 1979 He was loved by his fellow workers and every one that
knew him. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church, he attended
faithfully until his health failed a few years ago. He departed this life
on October 3, 1980 in Hawthorne, Nevada.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Mrs. Joe Willie Lee
of Hawthorne, three sons Terry of San Diego, California, Wayne of Hawthorne,
Nevada and Milton, of Reno, Nevada, four daughters. Doris Tucker, Marjorie Lee,
and Shirley Stennis all of Reno, Nevada. Gwendolyn Skyles of San Diego,
California, 19 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and a host of relatives and
friends. Sleep on Major, take your rest, we loved you, but God loved you
best.
Interment: Hawthorne Cemetery, Hawthorne, Nevada.
