JOHNNY C. MAREK

     Services for Johnny C. Marek, 69, of Temple were held Monday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple with Rev. Tom Popelka and Chaplain Brent Eaton officiated. Burial was in Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple.

     Mr. Marek died Friday, March 30, 2007, at his residence.

     He was born in Cyclone to Ed and Tillie Wychopen Marek. He worked 30 years at First Federal Savings and Loan in Temple. He retired as vice president in 1992. He graduated from Rosebud High School where he played football. He was a charter member of Evangelical Brethren Church in Temple where he served on the Board of Elders, was Sunday school superintendent, a member of the church choir and youth group sponsor.

     He was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Martin.

Survivors are his wife, Betty Marek of Temple; a son, Gary Marek of Fort Worth; a brother, Ed Marek of Temple; a sister, Doris Klinkovsky of Temple; four grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren.
