    Phebe Holloway was born June 14th., 1833, in Monroe county, Alabama; died October 15th, 1914, Marlin, Texas.  Was married to J. C. Beard January 16th, 1852, at Pineapple, Ala.  Was converted and joined Friendship Baptist church in 1855.  In 1859, with her husband and children, moved to Louisiana.  Her husband and two children died during the war.  She was married to W. T. Mattison in 1866.  Raised on e daughter to be grown and one granddaughter, Mrs. A. B. Curry, with whom she lived until her death.  Raised four orphan children form infancy.  Was an active worker for the Master, whom she delighted to serve, and when taken sick was about His work.  Truly she is asleep in Jesus.  Our loss is her gain.
