Mrs. Val (Roxie Azue Jordan) Moore

March 5, 1951

 

LOTT, Texas, March 8--Mrs. Val Moore of Lott, 85, a long resident of Falls County, died in a Marlin hospital following an illness of several years.

   Born in Alabama, she came to Texas with her parents when she was eleven years old.  Her parents settled in the Live Oak community of Falls County and engaged in a lifetime of farming.  Mres. Moore was formerly Miss Roxie Jordan.

   Her husband, Val Moore, died in 1943.  He was a farmer in the Lott section.

   Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. R. L. Golding, Lott; Mrs. T. R. Prideaux and Mrs. Howard Hampton, Lubbock, and Mrs. Leighton Cornett, Paris; a son, H. G. Moore, Waco; two brothers, A. P. Jordan, Midland, and S. P. Jordan, Hobbs, N. M.

 

 

Note:

     Mrs. Val (Roxie Azue Jordan) Moore was born 07/24/1866 in Andalusia, Alabama.  She is buried in Clover Hill Cemetery.  She was the wife of Vanlandeighan H. Moore, born 08/30/1863 in ? Missouri, died 11/23/44 and is also buried in Clover Hill Cemetery.  Roxie and Vanlandeighan were married 01/06/1886 in ? Missouri.

 

     Mrs. Leighton (Ruth Moore) Cornett, born 09/01/1912 in Lott, Texas, died 05/23/93 in Paris, Texas, buried 05/26/93 in Evergreen Cemetery, Paris, Texas, was the daughter of Vanlandeighan H. and Roxie Azue (Jordan) Moore, and was mother of Debra Cornett Usry.

 

     Mrs. Val (Roxie Azue Jordan) Moore was the grandmother of Debra Cornett Usry.
