Lucile Alene McDaniel
September 5, 1915 - March 9, 2007



     Lucile Alene McDaniel of Marlin died Friday, March 9 in Marlin hospital after a short illness. She was 91.

     Graveside services were held Monday, March 12, 2007 at Hillcrest Cemetery in Marlin.

     Alene was born Sept. 5, 1915 near Reagan, Texas, the daughter of John Lafatte and Effie Drake Manes. On October 22, 1932 she married David H. McDaniel. They lived in Marlin and Falls County all of their 56 years of marriage.

     She was a seamstress for Hammers Cleaners, Genies and Laurens. She was a lifetime member of the First Assembly of God Church of Marlin and very active in Women's Missionary organization in that church. She also loved to work in her flower gardens.

     She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years David McDaniel; sons, Bobby Ray McDaniel and David McDaniel Jr.; granddaughter, Terry McDaniel Cox; and twin brothers, Euell and Buell Manes.

     Survivors include her son James and wife Roberta McDaniel of Marlin: four grandchildren, William McDaniel of Atlanta, Georgia; Tracy Martinez of Waco; and Connie Taylor and Sheila Ward, both of Bryan; and 11 great-grandchildren.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials maybe made to Falls Community Hospital and clinic auxiliary in Marlin, Providence Hospice in Waco and the First Assembly of God Church in Marlin.
