Marlin, Falls County, Texas
Mrs. Etha Mae Mortimer, age 93, of Chilton, entered into rest on Friday,
July 4, 2008. Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2008,
graveside at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Marlin with the Rev. Andy Bratcher
officiating.
Mrs. Mortimer was born in Chilton April 1, 1915 to Dudley D. Carnes and
Mary E. Carnes and was a lifelong resident of Falls County.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 45 years, B.F.
Mortimer, sisters, Willie Herrington, Nellie Mortimer and Jewell Shivers and
brothers, Albert Carnes and Secrell Carnes.
Mrs. Mortimer was a loving wife and mother with an independent spirit
and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Her son, Bernard F. Mortimer and his wife Teresa of Waco; sister, Audrey
Carnes of Chilton; brother, Floyd Carnes of Oklahoma City; sister-in-law,
Eolean Carnes of Marlin; numerous nieces and nephews survive her.
Adams Funeral Home of Marlin was in charge of arrangements.
