ALTON NERING
June 4, 1936 - January 15, 2006

Alton James (Sonny Boy) Nering, 69, of Waco, Texas, formerly of Lott, Falls Co., Texas, entered into rest on Sunday, January 15, 2006. Graveside services will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, at the Cottonwood Cemetery in Falls County with Chaplains Dee and Carl Rucker officiating. Burial will be in Cottonwood. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home.

He was born June 4, 1936 in Chilton, Falls Co., Texas to Herbert and Alma Lowrance Nering. He was a farmer most of his life and retired in 1994. He attended Lorena schools. He enjoyed playing dominoes.

His parents and a sister, Barbara Hamilton in 1990, preceded Sonny in death.

Survivors include his brothers, Pete Nering of Chilton and Larry Nering and wife Sherilyn of Robinson, Texas; sisters, Brenda Waak and husband Frank of Belton, Texas and Lana Zimmerman and husband Richard of Robinson, Texas; his brother-in-law: Horace Hamilton of Chilton, Texas; nephews, Matthew Nering and wife Anne, Cris Hamilton and wife Paula, Jason W. Nering and wife Amy, John Nering, Jason R. Nering and Calvin Nering.
