    MATTIE R. PHELPS


   Mattie R. Phelps, a Waco homemaker and Cego native, died Thursday at a local hospital. She was 82.
   Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Adams Funeral Home Chapel in Marlin, the Rev. Greg Brumit and the Rev. Jim Grey officiating. Burial will be in Cego Cemetery.
    Mrs. Phelps was born Sept. 3, 1910, in Cego, and married Monta Phelps on Aug. 21, 1927, in Chilton. The couple lived and farmed in the Chilton area before moving to Waco in 1950. Mrs. Phelps was pianist at Cego Baptist Church and Meadowbrook Baptist Church. She was a member of Kendrick Lane Baptist Church.
   Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Ruben (Vila Mae) Gibson of Eddy; a brother, Wesley McKee of Chilton; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
   The family will be at the Ruben Gibson home in Eddy.
   The family will receive visitors from 7 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.
