Mabel Graves Railsback died Tuesday, Oct. 14
in Waco. She was 89.
Services were held at 4 p.m. Thursday,
Oct. 16 at First United Methodist Church in Marlin, with Rev. Richard Jenkins
officiating. Burial was aat (sic) Hillcrest Cemetery. Mrs.
Railsback was born on October 21, 1907 in the Eureka Community of Limestone
County to parents, Joseph and Cora Duncan Graves. She was a graduate of
Southwest State Teachers College and received her Masters Degree from
T.C.U.
She was a retired first grade teacher for over 35 years and taught for many
years in the Fort Worth area, including Richland Hills, White Settlement, and
Birdville. She was a member of the Marlin Chapter #286 Order of the
Eastern Star, Retired Teachers Association, First United Methodist Church and
the Maggie Rogers Circle at the First United Methodist Church. She was preceded
in death by her husband Homer Railsback.
Survivors include sisters, Ruth Taylor
Irwin, and Zelma June Parrott, both of Marlin; one niece and nephews and many
other loved ones and friends.
