Mrs. Serena Short, widow of T. F. Short and mother of Mrs. Bettie Johnston, wife of Gov. D. H. Johnston of the Chickasaw nation, died at the home of Gov. Johnston at Emet, I. T. , aged about 61 years. Mrs. Short was a full flood Chickasaw citizen and one of the most noted women in the Chickasaw nation. In the sixties she was a teacher in the Bloomfield seminary.
