A
double memorial and internment service for David Richmond and Leola Vinson
Traver of Rockville, Connecticut will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at
the First Presbyterian Church of Lott at 2 p.m. Internment will follow at
Clover Hill Cemetery in Lott.
Those
attending the service from Connecticut will be their son, Stanley; their
daughter Evelyn Psalzgraf; their grandchildren Scott, Mark, Steven, Christine
and Michael and wife Claudine and their great-grandchildren MariElle, Conner
and Alexis.
Mrs.
Traver graduated from Lott High School and as a young teacher began her
teaching career in area schools: Shields Academy, Travis and Chilton. While
teaching in Carrizo Springs, Texas, she met and married David while he was
stationed in Laredo. After marriage and David's discharge from the service,
they moved to New York where David's parents and four sisters lived. Later they
moved to Connecticut.
David
was employed by Chance Voight in Hartford, CT, prior to enlisting in the US Air
Force. He returned to his job after serving his country and retired from Pratt
Whitney Technologies Corporation in 1981. Leola continued her teaching and counseling
careers in Connecticut until she retired.
David
and Leola enjoyed their family and friends in Rockville. They watched their
grandchildren grow to adulthood as a close family in CT. The both were champion
volunteers for the American Red Cross, the Salvation Army and other serving
agencies for many years during their retirement.
