Frances Turner
Mrs. Frances Elizabeth (Lizzie) Turner, 98, of Gatesville, died Sept. 10 at Canterbury Villa Nursing Home. Funeral services were held Sept. 12 at Scott’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Martin officiating. Burial was in the Restland Cemetery. Born April 26, 1888 in Gatesville, She was the daughter of Julius and Betty Hirsch. She attended school at Hemmeline. She married Joseph Turner. He preceded her in death in 1942. She was also preceded in death by one son, J.C. Turner and one daughter, Norma Turner. She was a lifelong resident of Coryell County. She was a member of Primitive Baptist Church near Gatesville. Survivors include: four daughters, Vivian P. Lambert of Calera, OK, Eula M. Mathews of Malibu, Calif., Ethel L. Barton of Gatesville and Violet Clark of Gatesville, one son, Ralph B. Turner of Moline, Ill.; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
