M. T. “Jack” Walker
August 24, 1916 – March 22,
2008
M. T. "Jack" Walker, 91, of
Golinda, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2008. Funeral services will be 2 p.m.
Wednesday, March 26, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Dr., Waco, with
the Rev. Bill Schibler officiating. Burial will follow at Chilton Cemetery. The
family will receive visitors Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral
home.
Jack was born Aug. 24, 1916, in Lott, to
John Charles Walker and Marie (McBee) Walker. He served in the Army Air Corp
during World War II. He was a long time farmer and rancher. He married Ruby
Leona Ivey on May 28, 1937, in Lott. He retired from Texas Highway Department.
He worked with Golinda Water Department and was very active in civic and
community affairs. He was a Master Mason with 50 years of service and was a
member of the Chilton Masonic lodge and was a Shriner.
He was preceded in death by his wife,
Ruby Leona Walker on Dec. 8, 2006; a son, Charles "Sonny" Walker;
four brothers; and one sister.
He is survived by a daughter-in-law,
Joyce Walker; grandson, Charles "Bubba" Walker and wife, Teresa of
Elm Mott; granddaughter, Lisa Vaughan and husband, Keith of China Spring;
great-grandchildren, Destiny Walker, Cassidy Walker, Logan Vaughan, Tyler
Walker, Madison Walker, Seth Vaughan and Kaitlyn Walker; two sisters-in-law;
and a long time family friend, Charlie Hawkins Jr.
