Susan
Kay Young, 43, of Reagan, ascended into Heaven on December 19, 2007, to be
embraced by our Lord God.
Susan
was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and niece.
Graveside
services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 26 at Waite Cemetery in Reagan
with Rev. Jimmy Phillips officiating.
At
the age of 18, Susan married her best friend Richard Young of Reagan.
Referring
to each other as soul mates, together they raised their three daughters,
Amanda, Kayti, and Sidney Young.
Susan
was the kind of mother that read to her children before tucking them in at
night, she left notes of encouragement inside their lunchboxes, and later in
their purses, or on their voice mails.
She
was considered by her girls to be one of their very best of friends.
Not
only was Susan a compassionate mother but also a pure joy to her two
grandchildren, Rheily Young and Andrew Gonzales.
Susie,
as she was called by her mother and sisters, now joins her sister Vicki Kohl in
Heaven to watch over their mother Bertie Solley of Mexia and two remaining
sisters, Terry Woycheshin and Lori Bowman, both of Marlin.
Susan
was also preceded in death by her role model and mother-in-law, Mildred Young,
father-in-law Charles Lendon Young, brother-in-law John Kohl, and nephew Cody
Kohl.
In
the last few months of her life Susan was diagnosed with an inherited illness,
but despite the obstacles in her mind and the people enabling her she was
overcoming it.
The
family sends a special thank you to Rocky Underwood and Adams Funeral Home in
Marlin for all that they've done.
In
honor and in memory of Susan donations can be made to Mental Health America as
well as to The American Heart Association.
