Ward Lang Allen

June 1, 1941 – December 21, 2008

Ward Lang Allen, age 67, passed away December 21, 2008 in OKC, OK.

He was born June 1, 1941, the youngest of three children, to Walter H. and Mary Frances Allen in Marlin, where he also spent his childhood. He graduated from Baylor University in 1963 with a BS in Accounting.

Ward married his wife Sylvia, of 43 years, on March 20, 1965. Ward and Sylvia lived in Dallas and Waco before moving to Edmond, OK in 1979.

Prior to Ward's death he was employed as an Auditor with the OK Public Employee's Retirement System. Ward deeply loved his family. He was a man of faith who attended Crossings Community Church. He also enjoyed sports (especially Oklahoma State athletics).

Ward is survived by his wife Sylvia; son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren, Andrew, Kathy, Noah and Will Allen of Edmond; son and daughter-in-law, Walter and Jo Allen of Houston; and sister, Emily Nutcher, of Roseburg, OR.

Services were held at 10 am on Saturday, December 27 at Crossings Community Church, OKC.

Services were under the direction of the Matthews Funeral Home, Edmond, OK.
