DOUCHMAS - ABATE
The marriage of Miss
Annie Mae Douchmas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Angelo Douchmas of Bryan, to Mr.
Pat Abate of Marlin, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Abate of Eloise, was solemnized
with nuptial high mass at eight a.m. Saturday in St. Anthony’s Catholic church
at Bryan. Fr. Basil Bravi, the pastor,
was celebrant. Music for the service
was rendered by the church choir with Miss Mary Vitipol of Bryan at the organ.
The bride’s attendants
wee Mrs. Joe Fazzino, matron of honor, and Miss Lena Salvaggio Catherine
Fazzino and Frances Cash, bride’smaids, all of Bryan. The groom was escorted by Mr. Brazos La Borda of Eloise, best
man, with Mr. John Louis of Eloise and Mr. Frank Scanlin of Bryan,
groomsmen. Johnny Fazzino of Bryan was
ring bearer.
The bride was attired in
a wedding gown of white chiffon adorned with trailing veil. Her flowers were white carnations. The bride’s attendants wore dresses of
varying shades that of the matron of
honor being rose hued while those of Misses Salvaggio, Fazzino and Cash were of
pink, peach and orchid, respectively.
Each wore rhinestone crowns, while the matron of honor carried pink
carnations and daisies dyed blue and the bride’s-maids’ flowers were pink
carnations. The ring bearer was attired
in white and blue and bore ring on a silken pillow.
Following the ceremony,
members of the wedding party were guests at a dinner given in the home of the
bride’s parents.
They arrived in Marlin
Sunday to reside, the groom having recently entered business here.
