The marriage of Miss Annie Mae Douchmas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Angelo Douchmas of Bryan, to Mr. Pat Abate of Marlin, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Abate of Eloise, was solemnized with nuptial high mass at eight a.m. Saturday in St. Anthony’s Catholic church at Bryan.  Fr. Basil Bravi, the pastor, was celebrant.  Music for the service was rendered by the church choir with Miss Mary Vitipol of Bryan at the organ.

The bride’s attendants wee Mrs. Joe Fazzino, matron of honor, and Miss Lena Salvaggio Catherine Fazzino and Frances Cash, bride’smaids, all of Bryan.  The groom was escorted by Mr. Brazos La Borda of Eloise, best man, with Mr. John Louis of Eloise and Mr. Frank Scanlin of Bryan, groomsmen.  Johnny Fazzino of Bryan was ring bearer.

The bride was attired in a wedding gown of white chiffon adorned with trailing veil.  Her flowers were white carnations.  The bride’s attendants wore dresses of varying shades that  of the matron of honor being rose hued while those of Misses Salvaggio, Fazzino and Cash were of pink, peach and orchid, respectively.  Each wore rhinestone crowns, while the matron of honor carried pink carnations and daisies dyed blue and the bride’s-maids’ flowers were pink carnations.  The ring bearer was attired in white and blue and bore ring on a silken pillow.

Following the ceremony, members of the wedding party were guests at a dinner given in the home of the bride’s parents.

They arrived in Marlin Sunday to reside, the groom having recently entered business here.
