Pretty Home Wedding.
At the home of her mother, west of Marlin on Wednesday evening at 9 o'clock,
Miss Maye Louise Stallworth was united in marriage with Mr. Thomas Moody
Phillips of Jackson, Ala.
The ceremony was performed in the presence
of quite a number of friends, Rev. M. T. Andrews, pastor of the First Baptist
church, officiating.
The bride was given away by her brother,
Mr. Frank W. Stallworth, Miss Agnes Peyton was maid of honor and the
bridesmaids were Misses Sallie Peyton and Mildred Frank. A beautiful song
was sung by Miss Louise Finks and Mrs. Maude Horne, while the wedding march was
played by Mrs. A. O. Bowdon. The groom's best man was his brother, Dr. J.
H. Phillips of Meridian, Miss.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the
bridal party and guests were served a wedding supper at which the cutting of
the bridal cake furnished an exciting feature. The finder of the ring
being Miss Friels.
The bride leaves here a friend in every
acquaintance, won by a grace of heart and a charm of manner that will linger as
a sweet memory in the minds of all whose fortune it was to know her. The
groom is entitled to and has the congratulations of a large circle of friends
in his success in choosing the Lone Star State as the scene of his matrimonial
triumph.
