Luttrell, J.W., 1901, filed on three sections of land twelve miles southeast of Tahoka and came here by wagon before Tahoka existed. The children drove the stock. After their arrival, Mr. Luttrell helped with county organization.

Born January 24, 1856, Mr. Luttrell married Miss Bettie Ann Pickerell in 1879. They moved to Kansas, to Bronte in Coke County, and then to Lynn. Mrs. Luttrell died at Draw in 1907.

At the time of Mr. Luttrell’s death on July 16, 1938, he still held two sections of his original land. He was a member of the Christian Church.

The couple had three sons, Wesley T., Robert R., and S.G., and six daughters, Mrs. J.O. (Minnie) King, Mrs. W.R. (Lula) Traweek, Mrs. Levi M. (Hannah) Nordyke, Mrs. Jim (Ruth) McDonald, Mrs. G.A. (Daisey) Henry, and Mrs. A.D. Mayfield.”
