DIED OF WOUNDS - Norman Godwin, 17, s-2-c, U.S. Navy, died of wounds following action in line of duty, according to a telegram received from Vice Admiral Randall Jacobs chief of U.S. Navy personnel, by his mother Mrs. Maudie White, 610 South Eighteenth and a Half street. Details were not contained in the message. A native of Blooming Grove community, Godwin had been in the service only five months. He attended Blooming Grove high school.
