The Ladies of Birdston Valleyorganized an Order of the Eastern Star at the same time in 1907 when the men organized their Masonic Lodge [Birdston Masonic Lodge #266].  The group is called Heroines of Jericho-Dorothy Court #106.  They continue to meet in the present day on the first Saturday of each month. The officers are: Mary Frances Robinson, W. M., Mary Lee Davis, Sec., Mattie Bess Bradford, Treas.  There is an average attendance of 10 who attend meetings.  In 1957, the organization conducted special services to celebrate its' 50th birthday.  Other Worthy Matrons of the Lodge who are recalled by members are: Amy Hervy, Mary Washington, Eugene Thomas and Lizzie Jackson.
