Cuthand Cemetery

Notes: I have family buried in both the Cuthand and Garland Cemeteries. I noted on your web page that you needed directions to these locations. My 82 year old mother has provided these: To Cuthand Cemetery: From Clarksville go south on South Lake Road (909) to the townsite of Cuthand (there should still be a Methodist Church there); then go one half mile further south to the cemetery (it will be on the west side of the road) Mickeys Flowers in Clarksville delivers flowers every year to my mothers parent's graves (WW and Mary Elizabeth Provence.) CUTHAND CEMETERY PROJECT
This past weekend I was in Bogata, Texas for the Moore Reunion. While I was there I visited with Dub Harville. He is the caretaker of the Cuthand Cemetery. He is working on a row by row and plot by plot record of the cemetery. There are a lot of unmarked graves in that cemetery. I told him that I would contact you and see if something could be put on the Red River County Board about this. If anyone knows of anyone buried in the Cuthand Cemetery in an unmarked grave they need to get in touch with Dub and give him what info they can. He has a lot of it already done but there are several graves still left unmarked that he needs to know about. I don't have his number but he is listed in the Bogata Telephone Directory under Dub Harville. This is being done so that there will be records on that cemetery. The older records have been lost and no one know who has them. This will also be of help of anyone who wants to know if someone is buried there and doesn't have a marker. Hopefully when it is finished we will be able to put the info on the Red River Board. Thanks for your help. Linda Moore June 14, 1999
